I no longer look at the tach. I know when to shift by sound and feel. Call it the Stevie Wonder driving style!!

yeah most likely.
i look at the rpm meter to see how far the needle hits.
i think one time i hit 7000. (i have 05 AT)

Not sure what you mean by a "little grounding", but I installed Gordgee's Grounding Gear and there is a noticeable difference for sure (10-wire kit)....though I still have times when I go to shift and I have to hit it 2 or 3 times for it to shift (kind of annoying at times)..not when I get on it WOT, but just leisurely driving.
