frozen window & the auto window venting
frozen window & the auto window venting
Has anyone had their window freeze, and when you go to open the door the window wasn't able to go down like 1/4" to allow the window venting to clear the seals?
I just had this happen to me last night. I tried to get into my car, and the window would'nt move. I had to open the door anyways to get in, but it didn't sound good. After i got home, i put the car in the garage (of course). Then this morning I noticed the windows automatically went down the 1/4" sometime over the night even though the doors were sealed. Kind of like they do when you're battery gets low, it automatically lowers the window 1/4 to allow you to get in incase the battery completely dies.
Anyone have this happen, or know what I should do?

In icy weather, you'll have to unstick the window to release it either with hot water or a knife.. It's a PITA but you don't want to mess up the motors.
The dealer can readjust the windows if they're out of wack.

why can't our windows be re-initialized like other vehicles? my boss' jaguar has the same window thingy... one time the window didn't come up the way it should so we looked into his manual. there was a simple procedure with the window button where u can re-initialize the windows. luckily i haven't had a problem with my windows yet... but it's sad to know that if they ever go out of whack it needs to be taken in and the door panel removed just to have them re-initialized. poor engineering on the side of nissan for this one
not to mention the more things taken apart in my car by infiniti techies the more rattles i get.

No, my windows work fine now...I just didn't know what to do with them when they were frozen since all i had with me was a laptop and I had to get in the car...so I had to open the door without the window gapping
But that weird thing happend the next day with finding them in the lowered position. After i got in the car and manually rolled both windows up, they are fine now - they lower when supposed to. I guess the engineer's didn't take frozen windows into account when they designed the lowering thingy.
