On a smaller track, a pad change should suffice. On the "big boy" tracks, you will probably eat rotors as well.

What track are you going to run?

I remember seeing a post that the stock bracks tend to fade at the track. Maybe a pad change will help.

I've been to the track with the Brembos and hawk pads and they worked great.
My tires were a different story...

In Feb. I did VIR (3.2mile road course). Stock non-brembo brakes.
5 -25minute sessions. Street tires. Warped the front & rear calipers!

mine were replaced by the dealer after I reported a "funny sound"

I've since upgraded to the stop-tech stage II, haven't tracked them hard yet.

In october - Pocono raceway 1.25 mile circuit (not oval) - stock brakes and 18" Pilots. 4 sessions 20-25 each (about 75 miles toal) full throttle. VDC=ON.
After 1st session brakes were smoking, probably due to the anti-squeek stuff from the dealer (asked for new pads just before).
Never noticed any significant weakening, just lighter grip at the end of session. No significant wear. It depends very much on driving style.

I had no brake problems on my stock '05 on victoracers and Porterfield R4 pads at Mosport over 30 minute sessions but on a shorter, tighter track, Shannonville, I had to nurse my brakes after 10-15 minutes by alternating 3 fast laps with 2 slow laps.

NHIS road course is a 1.3 some odd mi course with some off camber corners and high speed braking, my brembos held up pretty well but i noticed some rotor wear from the hawk hp+, the stopping power was superb but i wouldn't recommend them if you want your rotors in good condition i should have used an exclusive track pad but i kept them over the weekend from the autocross the previous day, no heating issues since it was like 50-55 degrees outside, as for non-brembo i cannot say as much
