I'm at 1350 and can feel the need for an oil change. I meet the frequent-change criteria.

I've been using the PL14610 and Mobil 1 5W/30 since 2200 miles. Now over 63000 and it runs better and stronger than new. I swear the VQ gains power with time. Others have said the same thing and I believe them.

i'll be changing mine at 1200 miles (according to my 6mt sedan manual).

the reason I'd be changing myself is that i'll be using my own mobil 1 super synthetic oil. I will go with oem filter, just like i did with my 2k2 maxima 6spd @ 3k-4k mile intervals for the past 4 years.

Maxima engine still purrs silently with 58k miles (85% highway) on it. Radiator fluid is till factory fluid and hasn't gone down yet. I did have dealer do the oil change on the the maxima for the first couple of oil changes (not the first break-in, but the 2nd thru 4th oil changes).

hey, would it be bad if i didn't change the oil at 1700 miles and car will be sitting in the garage for about 3weeks? like would the "engine debris" buildup? thanks.

No. Just make sure that the engine is up to operating temperature when you do drain it. That way, all nasties will be in solution when it is dumped.
