How long does regular Mobil 1 last?
I looked on Mobil's site and searched this forum and some others, but I can't find a mileage rating for Mobil 1. There are other Mobil 1 products with mileage ratings (ie, Mobil 1 7500, Mobil Clean 7500), but unless I'm just missing the information, I don't see a mileage rating for regular Mobil 1. Now the manual says to change every 3750 I believe, but I've heard others say that they've send their oil away to be test and that changing synth every 3000 miles is basically throwing your money away because synth won't break down as soon as conventional oil does and that's why the owner's manual recommends it. Any words of wisdom?

Dang you can buy mobil 1 at target?? Koo im there tomorrow... im not sure but correct me if im wrong guys.. but if you get your oil changed at the dealer dont they you synthetic blend?? NOt fully synthetic... so if its the blend then ya you should change it every 3500... but if you use mobil 1 i would say its safe to go over that... i guess people rather play it safe and change it every 3k with fuly synthetic... plus it also depends on how hard you drive.. and i must say that i myself have a lead foot

I've used Mobil 1 in all my vehicles for the past 15 years. I change oil and filter every 5000 miles.
I have never had any engine related issues with any of my cars. None have ever burned any oil.
That includes 100k+ Eclipse GSX (other then normal turbo oil consumption, less then 1/2 quart between changes)
and 100k+ Toyota 4Runner (maybe not the best example, Toyotas never burn oil )
So, until someone can convince me to do something different, 5000 is my personal preference.
