Feeler for hood springs.

EDIT: BTW, I am pretty sure these things wear out over time and stop working. We had an old piece of crap '89 tauras laying around a couple years that we used a 2x4 to hold up to hood. And its had struts.

there you guys go... the struts will work... but maybe to the detriment of the hood on your cars. They may work this month and next month... but when you hood starts to flex, i'll be saying i told you so. Maybe you can take from these threads and start where they left off and find a different mounting position or something. Oh yeah... and for future dont call someone's posts BS just because they dont go do YOUR research for you. Im suprised that the person taking this project on didnt go look at these posts.... i wouldnt trust any hood struts you made for putting them on my car. GL and i hope you arent responsible for ruining a bunch of people's perfectly good hoods

like i said.... the engineers who im guessing are better educated and a lot better at this stuff than anyone on these boards knew what they were doing when they designed this car... it wasnt necessarily a money saving scheme to give us a cheap prop. THink about how light our hood is compared to most cars.. like i said, there is probably a reason that infiniti did not put these on our car... and maybe it has to do with money... maybe not.

I'm sorry this is taking a long time. I've been busy. Infiniti didn't leave much room for development on this one, but I think it'll work. Tolerances are real close though. Just have to think out of the box and not along the same lines as Tein or Top Secret. I never liked their design because of the fact that it mounts too close to the pivot. Also, after looking at the hood and fender closely, it looks like Infiniti did indeed plan for hood springs but for some reason or another didn't carry it out.
badt i hope you dont take my posts the wrong way. I in no way am trying to kill your market for the hood struts that you may eventually develop, and no the comments attacking those people for critisizing me were not directed at you. I was actually just trying to give you more information and didnt want you to lose money or time trying to do something that was unsuccessful for someone else before

+1, any updates?
My guess is cost cutting, apparent in other areas in the car, especially the earlier ones. I suppose if the mounting points were closer to the middle of hood, then flex would not be such an issue.
