Keep it off the streets!!! A short romp with friends can change the lives of others who don't care about the perfomance of your cars!!! Take it to a track!!

tragic... but where the hell did this happen?

i can't make heads or tails out of san ramon, san lorenzo, bcn (bay city news), contra costa county, dublin residents, or bay city news service.

i'm assuming by your location, this was local to you in cali...

and that could make this san francisco area?

That is my pet peeve with all these punks. They think they own a sporty car and they have to drive fast. Too bad they did not clean themselves out of the gene pool. Sad thing is, they will only get a slap on the wrist.

Because of my subdivision has a mile of quiet straight road, many punks used to come drag racing at night on weekends. We finally got tired of the noise, and the danger they posed (most houses in my subdidivsion sell for $1M), we took matters in our own hands after the local police could not do squat. We photographed their licenses, blocked them in while they lined up for the race, and tried to chase them out. We finally resorted to pay a visit at their homes (we got most of their licenses when we stopped them) while they were out "playing". Had talks with their parents and showed them the pictures. We pretty much told the parents should any of their kids caused injuries or collateral damages, we would held them responsible and would not hestitate to take them to the cleaners (a couple of neighbors are lawyers). We finally traced it down to one person actually as the root cause. It was a house few miles from us and the owner converted his garage into car tuning business. When the kids picked up their newly souped up Hondas and what have you, they came up to our neighbourhood to try out their new rides. After we checked into his neighborhood housing code, we shut it down with help from city authorities. Should have seen the guy's face as the cop hauled out his auto paints, heavy equipment, etc. He also got a citation for having toxic chemical without proper license and disposal facilities. Needless to say, it has been two years since anyone raced down that strip of road and we have our peace and quiet back. Never under estimate what a group of people can do to change things if they band together.

Seems even in my city the races take place anywhere. I street raced when I was in my early twenties but it was in a remote location and only two cars at a time. I've seen videos of 3 or 4 cars at a time in what looks to be a residential area.

Wow, That's so sad..... Poor girl, and poor parents...

It's not hard to figure out why we at G35Driver don't condone, or even allow discussions about, this activity.

That is horrible. I hope the young lady is able to recover from the incident. If she is unfortunate and does not I hope this @$$hole sees that wreck everytime he closes his eyes to sleep for the rest of his life.

Yeah, heard about this while driving into work, this morning. Everyone thinks that they are immune to accidents while racing. It only takes that one time and your life is changed forever . . . Needless to mention, the lives of the victims and their families will never be the same.

I suspect that you sir are in the minority among this crowd. Most of us aren't foolish enough to street race.

I used to street race at 1AM-3AM or so on weekdays back more than 10 years ago. We did it in a closed off freshly paved industrial business park with two lanes going each way. It was a road that connected all the new office buildings they are constructing. The street was REALLY wide and the cars would back in diagonally. We'd block off all the driveways of the offices just to be safe. We'd block off the entrance to that road. Get a few runs in for some cash or bragging rights and leave...

I am highly against any sort of street racing now. Closed off or not, it's just one of the dumbest things you could do with your car. Very careless and inconsiderate to others...
