I have an 03 sedan. When I put it into the shift-troni mode, it always goes to 4th gear. I thought maybe that was normal until I drove an 05 service loaner today and it shifts to whatever gear you are supposed to be in.

Every other car I have had with shiftronic does that - if you are in 3rd, it is in 3rd when you pop it over to manual. But my G35, always goes to 4th.

Even if I am at a dead stop and pop it to manual, it is in 4th gear.

Any thoughts?
