hey guys, im new here and i just agreed to buy a 04 coupe at a infiniti dealer. i put down a check for them to hold , but have not offically signed anything. Heres the question. the car has 2 fairly deep scrathes on the front bumper and 1 scratched rim. they guy said he cant fix it becuase hes making nothing on the sale. so im planning on calling him tommorow and telling him to fix both of them at his cost(which ill pay) before i take the car. i was told by other dealers that it costs them about 50 bucks to fix each rim and im not sure how they'll go about fixing them bumper. if a dealer typically gets a nicer car in and its got scrathes does he ususally repaint the whole bumer or piece, does he repaint part of it, or do they airbrush it? im upset because he should have fixed this stuff before selling it. if hes tries to tell me its gonna cost like 700-800-900 bucks to fix both ill tell him to screw himself and try to hagle down the price more. like i said the scraches are below the paint because there black, but ive seen worse. i guess my question really is what does a dealer typically do to repair this issue? how much does it cost them roughly? Im more concerned with the bumper because ive seen pics of messed up rims fixed and they look great, but when dealing with paint it gets more complicated. what whould you guys do?

 

i would pickup your check, tell them to fix it or sell it to someone else and
search another dealer.

 

Dealers usually have spot painters which do a decent job and charge around 150 to paint bumper
