BLUETOOTH + Cold weather
BLUETOOTH + Cold weather
I might be crazy or my BT system might just be whacky, but i swear the BT doesnt like it when its cold.
I have an 06x car with BT and its been working great about 98% of the time.
It has lost complete pairing with my phone 4 times now, and it just dawned on me that each time the temperature has been very very cold, sub 20 degrees.
Again it works perfectly the rest of the time, but when it loses the fone, nothing brings it back until i go through the whole pairing process again.
Right at the end tho it recognizes my fone as already being registered and i am paired again, everything works. This has happened exactly 4 times in 4 months of ownership.
Has anyone else with BT noticed some odd behavior with their BT when its very cold out?

I dont know about the BT, but know for a fact electronics, and espeically cell phones dont' work very well when cold.
Ever walk around outside all bundled up then take your cell phone out and try to use it? It'll be REAL slow.

electronics in general do not function well in extreme cold. I know that there is an ideal temp for computers and i would imagine its about the same for all electronics. My sterio doesnt work very well some days until my car warms up. Electronics dont want to be too hot or too cold when they are operating. I'm guessing that you have problems when your car first starts up and after it warms up you have fewer problems?
