Wondering if anyone has seen this. The molding on my passenger side door thats on the bottom of the door is split. The split started near the rear door jamb and is about 8" long... So its peeling towards the front of the car. I took the car to a touchless car wash and I think when one of the guys was drying the door he snagged a towel on the molding. I feel like I'm starting to see a lack of quality in the materials used to make these cars. I love the car, but for 37K I should be able to dry it off without worrying about such things. So... has anyone else seen this?

HOw hard is it to replace that molding. I saw it listed for $40 already painted.
-HOw do I get it off?
-what do I use to glue the new one on?

Any advice from the experts on here would be great. OH... Its an 05 G35 coupe 6mt Premium blah blah blah... if that helps.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I don't get it. I rarely have a passenger in my car, and the drivers side is fine.

I think the warranty is going to be the solution. Such a pain in the A$$ though.

It’s caused from those gas station high pressure “brushless” washers.

Possible solution...
My new moldings are on order from the dealership. When they come in I am going to stop by a local tint shop and see if I can get a couple scraps of invisible bra.

I bet a three inch piece at the ends of the molding will prevent splitting.
