g is gone :(

as of 1:30 a.m. last night, my G is gone. i was going up 35 north in kansas city when some idiot unexpectedly cut me off, i slammed on my brakes and to avoid rear ending him i swerved to the right. this caused me to lose control and my car did a 180 across 2 lanes of highway and slammed into the median. it is probably totalled as to i saw the front frame broken in half. i am so upset right now, i dont have any idea what to do / how to deal with my loss.

Well I have a slight problem, my driver's side airbag didnt go off, the passengers did though. Should I send a letter to corporate infiniti?

sorry to hear about the collision

if you walked away without any scratches.... no.

note to all users, this is another reason why swerving to miss an accident shouldnt occur. the other party gets away and you have a high potential to get a ticket for reckless driving (though none was mentioned here).

hope it all works out

Why not? The fact remains that the airbag didn't deploy is a potential lawsuit to Infiniti. Besides this is a safety issue and this problem should be address accordingly. If this happened to me I will sue the crap out of Inifiniti.

So what your saying is just nail the damn guy who cut you off and say what the hell. This guy is not going to get away with this &$%^* that he just did to me. Great advice I will surely employ your advice the first chance I get.

perhaps i was misundersood...

the airbag thing , please do what you like , myself I wouldnt. not worth the trouble if i walked away.

as far as hitting the person causing the collision. I've seen too many collisions where the person swerved to miss a car, or deer, etc and there is no evidence of the car, deer, etc . the police write it up as they see it and you pay, either thru surcharges, tickets, aggrivation.

granted i prob am a more angry driver, taking this into account, imo his actions should have been to slam on the breaks and drive straight. but its neither here nor there.

he walked away and it sounds like the police were resonable. hopefully he'll get a new G to replace it !

yep; you don't want the hassles of a car brought back from the brink of destruction, just too many problems...it'll never ride the same

sorry about your G man. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I left in accident like that. You could of been hurt. +1 for G safety even though the airbag did not deploy.

that second thing. I hear of people getting into accidents, spending weeks in hospitals recovering, and than get ticked for driving 15 over. I dont understand that. If you spend 2 weeks in the hospital because your leg was mangled, and you probably wont walk again...dont you think that is enough punishment?!!? I feel like that after ticket is just like spitting someone in their face. However, if you hurt someone else in the process, thats another story.
