Has this happened to anyone else?

I was driving the 04 6mt when all of a sudden check engine light comes on and the car stops accelerating, it didn't shut off, it just wouldn't go, as if it wasn't getting any gas. I pulled over and tried revving it up but it didn't do much so I shut off the car and started it back up. When I turned it back on it drove with no problem except that check engine light stood on and finally it shut off a day later. What could it have been?

I would take it to the dealer.
Did you do anything before you can think of, also have you installed anythink aftermarket that can or would cause your problem?

I'm looking at the service history of my car. This happened before I owned it. Problem: "Check engine light - vehicle lost power and would only idle slowly"
Solution: "Replaced accelerator pedal "***'y" (assembly?)".

Replace accelerator pedal (watchamecallit) assembly maybe?
Sounds like a dealer issue, what year is your car?

Mine is an 04 6MT sedan with 31,000 miles. This happened to me a few months after getting the car. Maybe 3000 miles on it. Towed to dealer. They fired it right up and kept it for two days driving it around. They could not find anything wrong, not even a code in the computer. Go figure. Never happened since, knock on wood.
