Theoretical Maximum for NA Engine

I've been doing a lot of research on upgrading my engine, exhaust, etc. to squeeze out more hp and tq. After all the reading, it seems that you get the biggest increases from going FI, but that going FI is super expensive and can require a lot of other expensive upgrades to make it effective without messing something up. Plus you may or may not diminish engine life, etc.

All that to ask, what's the maximum hp/tq you can achieve while staying with the basic NA set-up? What upgrades are required to get there, and how much $$$ are we talking to do it? There's a huge amount of information on individual spacer/exhaust/intake/etc. upgrades on this board, but I'm looking for more of a summary discussion.

And for all you FI fantatics, I'm not looking to debate whether FI is worth it or not. God knows I've read enough your-Vortech-sucks no-your-Stillen-sucks threads that I can't take anymore.

It's very subjective and generally you would get a ton of different opinions... Probably why no one is touching this one. The best thing you can do is research all the different products available - try to find dyno results from various mods and make your own informed decision. SportZ mag has frequent good articles about performance, and there are some very knowledgeable people out here that can give you advice... most don’t post anymore because it's turned into a drama fest over time, but the old posts remain. There are way too many possibilities for your quest so the is no one right answer. It's kind of like asking what is the best car? If there were such a thing there would be no choices, every one would drive that car only... in this case if there were a specific answer to your question we would all have that set-up.

Sorry it wasn’t what you are looking for but the info is out there... your budget and subjective opinion will determine what route you go. It's a great hobby and for me some of the fun is analyzing and researching... Good luck, happy modding!
