I'm sick of the status quo.
I'm at the mercy of one, no....two companies that offer programming for our cars. Wait. Make that ZERO companies for the "X" cars.....
How would you hex-code gurus like to practice your craft, serve the automotive community, and make some $$$ at the same time?
SOMEONE please develop a Windows-based GUI that will control the following:
1) full fuel/timing modification ability
2) access to all sensors
3) transmission control unit interface
4) access to all BCM sensors/functions (less important)
I WILL PAY !!!
It would be worth it to me to have someone develop a moderately priced end-user solution. Many other platforms from other marques are supported in this manner by the aftermarket, but the VQ35 is ignored.
Anyone with the technical savvy care to chime in or discuss rates?

I would up for the challenge, the problem is I would need a test vehicle and it would take a lot of time and research to create somthing like that.
I would be willing to put some time into researching this. Being a computer science geek, I plan on spending some time with the electornics of the G. I have been looking into creating a nice virtual gauge cluster program that uses the ODBI2 CAN interface and possibly CONSULTII.

FYI, I have found three companies that sell ECU flashes for VQs (no guarantees on the G35x, sorry):

Fisher Speed (350Z at least)

This is an interesting thread... I haven't been on for about a week(working on some personal timeslip/car/version/mod historical analysis program right now), so this response is a bit late...
But...
When you mention two companies, I assume the other you are referring to is UpRev, correct? I've never used the product first-hand, but I find it very appealing. It has *some* of what you seem to be looking for, including the nice windows interface and the ability to set target idle timing. Of course, you can't do full fuel/timing adjustments like the real piggybacks, but it's got access to a ton of sensors. And of course you can't do any tranny programming.
However, just last week two other programmers at my shop(and big car guys to boot) and I were talking about just this thing, except making something generic and having specialized extensions per platform. Of course, we don't know what the hell we're talking about, so we don't know the effort required.
One thing to look into is MegaSquirt, which is positioned as an open-source ecu. I haven't done any research, so I don't know how limited it is, but my buddy claims that it's pretty feature-rich.
Also, another thing to keep in mind is that if it might not be possible to specifically control the timing and fuel maps on the stock ecu. I don't fully understand exactly *what* technosquare does, but I would have to assume that if it could be done, then one of the piggyback ecu companies would have released a product to do so by now, rather than having to bother with fabricating, testing, and bothering with QA on custom ecu's... but that's just a guess.
