When are you getting it back, that's all that counts!!! For crying out loud, how long can it take to swap a motor! I hope they are getting you a completed long block and not just a short block!

It's up in the air right now. Infiniti authorized the short block but I'm gonna fight for the long. Lauren said she hoped they didn't have the short block in stock and she could get me the whole thing. I need some advice on how to get the whole thing taken care of. It's bad enough they have to take the car apart let alone the engine too.

Re: Dropped off the car, Now who......

THAT's such BS man!!! I would just biotch that you paid for a new car and expect that it should run like one! Not to mention that opening up the engin is going be like opening a can of worms! I don't trust it, how can they do that! Cheap bastards, the labor alone has to up there! So much easier and better to take 1 motor out and put another in. Now where would the warranty begin??? Are they going to say that this motor has 40K and you have 30K left instead of a new one that should have 70K? Fight that kid!!! How do they know that there aren't any problems with the heads? Are they going to do the proper machin work to the old heads if they re-use them? Too many variables!!! You need to make a stink! I forgot who had the same trouble on line, possibly xclussiv? and he got a new motor, might wanna ask him if he got a short or long.
Damn!!!!

Re: Dropped off the car, Now who......

I know Skeleton Cru had the same problem and he had them have the heads checked out by a machine shop and they didn't pass inspection. I am gonna make a stink first by calling the dealer and then consumer affairs as a call to them seems to get things done. I really hope I dont end up with a half a$$ed job. It would be eaiser on both of us to just replace the whole thing.....

Now who went to Infiniti whining about a new engine!!

Nick good to hear they are finally comming around. Glad to hear things are working your way and hopefully they finish quickly as I would hate to see you driving that s2k with the top down during the winter trying to convince everyone else that it's not cold out lol. Hey also tell them no scratches on those wheels**lol. Good to hear man, as soon as you get it back let us know.

-Vin

What are they going to do with your odometer? If you're getting a new engine, do they reset the mileage? I doubt they would but I guess you would just keep the papperwork huh?

Yeah I think it's just a paper trail on that one. What I really need to find out is why happens to my waranty on the engine now. I dont know if it extends or not.

Re: Dropped off the car, Now who......

I would assume it would either extend or give you 3/36 or sumtin after the original powertrain wears off. Hmmmmm. Whatever you do, DO NOT LOSE THOSE PAPERS!!! That's a pretty good question. I bet ya they take the cheap way and use the car build date as the offical warranty check. So even if they replace a motor every year, past the 4th yr they'll tell ya to go scratch!
