Need a good security system

Hey Guys! I'm interested in purchasing a good security system for my car. My sister's brand new 2005 X5 was stolen last night in front of my house within seconds. My mother saw a black van pull up and then the X5 peeled out. I'm not interested in seeing my Amy stolen , any suggestions from anyone???

If they want the car - a security system wont stop them.

Throw a pitbull in the drivers seat and don't feed him!!! Just make sure you are insured for theft. Like Joel said, if they want it they'll take it! Doesn't the X5 have a chip in the key like ours?
Oh and you have a sister that drives an X5 and Greek???? Is she hot???? LOL JK well not really, is she cute?

she's Greek but doesn't drive an X5 anymore. heh

I was thinking along the lines of making it harder for them , I don't want to keep an open door for them yah know , I wanna be like heh sucker , I read 2600 every quarter so I know it's impossible to secure it fully but protect it you can

thanx for the concern though ...

Re: Need a good security system

Ya know Gabe ...I'm with you on that ...the man asks for some advice or suggestion on an alarm and gets posts like
"if they want it they'll take it".....LOL

That is not the name of an alarm company...LOL...dont you hate when peeps just cant answer a dang question....

Well Gabe to answer your question....as far as alarm...the cut offs switches and loud noise is more deterrent...than prevention...

However if you want something ro seriously almost stop that car theft thing...GET THE MULTI-LOCK....its locks the Tranny in PARK for autos and keeps the stick in neutral...so basically you gotta flatbed that car if you want it....

U cant drive what you cant put in gear.....and its bolted with carraige bolts through the body of the car....so its a permanent install...about $250 incl install....but the thing WORKS!!!

Re: Need a good security system

It was my understanding that If the want the car it has to be flatbedded anyway. Meaning the car wont start because of the chip in the key. Of course for all I know theifs have a way to get around this too but I figured if they want it they'll take it meant they're just gonna flat bed the car any way.

If you really want to have the car safe consider motion detector floodlights on your driveway and possible a cheap camera or something.

Re: Need a good security system

thats true - BUT still not impossible - BEST thing i have ever seen - i dont know hte name of it - but if u park in a drive way its this pole about 6 inches to a foot in diameter so its pretty wide - it comes up from the ground and locks in place with a key then unlocks with a key and drops back into the ground where again u can lock it so no schmucks are lifting this pole up. The pole comes up about 3 feet from the ground (give or take maybe more maybe less not sure) depedning the layout of ur driveway this pole is in destructible (so they say) and basically puts up a roadblock lol cant steal a car if u have NO WAY of getting it out of the driveway

if the thing is as sturdy as i have been told it is AND if ur driveway is only wide enough for one car (i guess u can put more then one pole - so watever) but anyway i think this is an AWESOME way to avoid ur car from being stolen - BUT who knows maybe the theives would get pissed and just ram the [censored] out of ur car into the pole lol - ah u can never win lol

other thing is that pedal lock thingy. ask chris (worlds) more about it he uses it i believe - kinda like "The Club" for ur pedal and its supposed to be bulletproof or sum [censored] i dunno ask Chris more info on it - it looks interesting

Re: Need a good security system

Though Blitz and Babie did not give the name of an alarm company, they did give the best advice of anyone on this post. There's a difference between being a wise *** and giving an honest response and they both did the latter. You can sugar coat it all you want but you can put a million locks and alarms on a car but the sad truth is that they want what they want and they'll do whatever it takes to get it. They are professionals. We could tell him to go out and buy the most expensive alarm on earth and it will not change the fact that a thief will steal his car no matter what.

I'm not flaming but I am defending what I think was a good point and a very honest response to the question. Don't waste your money. How often to people really show concern for a car with its alarm going off especially in the five boroughs? ...Never.
