There are gonna be some big teams there with sponsers and all... We're the "real" folks who you'll see driving our cars on the road. Not on a flatbed truck driven around the country.

Happy now??
ING sides came in a day early... and with me not liking to procrastinate, it was off to the Ducatiguy Chop Shop...
It was "supposed" to be a quick test fit, prep, and send to the bodyshop cause 350zforums said the Poly-Urethane sides fit 101%...
BUT...
The fitment was NOT perfect... Overall, the fitment is great.. don't get me wrong. But I just COULDN'T bare to deal with gaps...
With Ducatiguy and I being semi-perfectionist, we had to start butchering away. I went there thinking it was going to be an hour... maybe 2 MAX!! WRONG!!
...
...
...
...
...
6 hours laters...
(Too much fun to go into details)
It's a little past 1am... and I'm home entering my blog. It now fits to my acceptance level... The Top Secret bumper fitted like a glove...
The ING Replica's from 350zforums... took some work. What I learned from this dealing with the 2 pieces, GET THE REAL DEAL if you don't want to deal with the hassle!!!
You might save some here, but expect to put in the time... or expect to pay the bodyshop to put in the time and charge you and arm and a leg.
I think with the $$ Duc and I get paid on a hourly basis... we could've easily bought a complete authentic kit... for both him and I!!! lol
Oh well, what fun is that right??!? ...plus it's a great learning experience!!
I like getting down and dirty working on cars. I went straight from work to Ducatiguy's place... and all I can say is that my white polo is NO LONGER white.
Maybe John can post some pix... ?? *hint hint*
Now, it's off to the bodyshop to prime/paint... Can't wait to get it installed next week. I'll have a day... maybe 2 to detail before HIN. FUN!

Hey J.....
It was fun man!
Here's a pic of the skirts as they arrived...

Here's a pic of one side on...

The fit in terms of end to end, and height to height was fine, but the gaps between the body, the doors and the skirts was VERY bad! NOTHING lined up! The 3M tape they setup was sitting too damn high and out, which caused the big gaps. They had to go, but with them off, we had to design a new way to keep them in place (which we ended up doing, and I won't let out our secret just yet)....
It's now 1:30am and I just finished the surface prep. They're off to the body shop to get sprayed. With some luck, there's a small chance we just might get everything back by this weekend, otherwise it'll be early next week.
Nevertheless, I'm confident everything will come out looking great! Ducs Chop Shop doesnt settle for anything less than perfect... LOL

FRIDAY NIGHT update!!!! I feel like Dan Rathers....
I swung by the body shop this afternoon and saw everything in the paint booth, so they were either going to be sprayed today, or sometime Tuesdays (the shop will be closed this weekend and Monday for Labor Day). I was assured we'll have everything back before Thursday of next week, so it looks like Jay will be rolling in style for HIN!
