Just Kidding? Don't you hate it when people BLUNTLY call you out making you look like a TOTAL FOOL (???stand up guy???) and say J/K.... Whats up with that?

Second - where have I been? Gearing up my store for the fall and winter, and starting the development of my second store in CT, that's where I have been. Now that the summer is basically over, schools have opened (kids and families are home for dinner and not bouncing around), my business is BOOMING (typical for this sort of biz) and we need more employees, so I've been recruiting, training, and working my rear off getting the second store in line for an early 07 opening! Naturally pulling crazy hours, getting little sleep, but turning over some pretty solid numbers and getting $hhit done, so it's all good....

OK now to the Papa John's Blackberry deal... This past summer, Papa John's was (may still be offering it) FREE Blackberrys to those who placed online pizza orders and met certain "order requirements" (I forgor exactly what they were, something like, order a large, add a coke and something else), they would get an e-mail link (upon order completion) to a FREE Blackberry offer from Cingular.

The way it worked is, the Blackberry unit itself was free (after rebate) but you had to sign up for a two year data / phone plan with Cingular in order to get the free rebate. It was a nice deal for anyone looking for the new Blackberry, and a new plan respectively.

It wasn't something we gave out through the store or even handled. We had some posters up, but that's it. As the owner, Cingular sent me one (pre-paid for the year) free of charge (to show it off to my customers who asked about it), but I'm not much of a "Blackberry person" so I gave it to my cousin. Having a number of business partnerships through Papa John's (Cingular being one, Kinkos / FedEx, Coke, Ford, Best Buy, Sony and others) we often get free merchandise, special coupons, discounts and stuff like that. Small perks for being a franchisee.

In October, my store will be giving away 4 gas powered scooter (those mini ones) one a week. All you have to do is purchase a specialty pizza (Works, Chicken BBQ, Veggie and so on) and a 2ltr beverage, and fill out a raffle slip. We will draw the winner at 9pm every Friday for the entire month of October! The promotion will begin on October 1st.

damn jon your doin' your thing!
Hard working for your money. Something I really respect in a person. I know a lot of people who always try to easy way out - some of them, in illegal ways, get it done, but others b!tch and moan - i dont feel bad for them. Work hard and it pays off!

I feel so bad in saying this, BUT, i've never had papa johns pizza
One had opened on Union Tpke around 1-2 years ago while i was going to SJU but now that im at NYLS i probably wont be near that one anytime soon again
Are there are papa johns in brooklyn?

Just a heads up for those interested. The blackberry that they are giving away is not the regular blackberry with the full QWERTY keyboard but rather one where some keys have two letters. I have TMobile's version of it and like it but I have heard complaints from others. It has some sort of learning capabilities and works smoothly although every time I want to type "see" the word "are" appears. For those using this as their first blackberry it's nice but if you've had one before this will probably drive you nuts.
