Need to vent!!

Infiniti prices are outrageous! Just had my car in for service and here's what happened. First I needed rear tires which we all know are expensive so that $600 wasn't too bad. Then I tell my tech - who works on high end cars all day, I may need brakes. He takes a look and tells me it's time for pads and usually with a brake job they replace the rotors when they look like mine, but there's a catch. A normal Ford rotor is around $50-60, BMW and Mercedes are $80-100 and Porsche is around $120 per rotor - The ones for our cars are$490 each!! So he says I might be able to just put on pads and get away with it - well the pads are $185 a set. My tech works on racecars that only cost $140 per set. Why is Infiniti so freakin expensive?? Shipaeki - Don't you work at one?? What's the deal - I know everyone knows this car is expensive but this is crazy. I love this car - just needed to vent a little!!
Spending all this money on normal stock stuff is taking away $$ for mods!!!

- Couldn't cut the rotors either if anyone was thinking that - not enough room. So I saved the 2k and just ordered pads.

Order some aftermarket rotors for alot cheaper and I'll put them on for you. Real easy! I used to work at Lynnes Nissan in Bloomfield and between parts and labor, dealers are outrageous! Personally, its not worth it. Most of the techs there are fresh out of school and the others are great but, very overpriced. Where if you go to a reg. mechanic, he only has to cover his shop expenses and a dealer has to cover benefits, service advisors, etc... If you plan on doing any work, hit me up. I'm doing sidejobs at my place since I'm going back to school. I've worked as a tech for 4+ years! Hope that helps...

Yeah Kyle...also

dont forget G-Squad has a sponsorship with CVRmotorsports.com and RacingBrake.com

both of which will get you a nice discount on some brakes if you need it...
...Racing Brake has an OEM kit for the G....dont know if you have brembo's or not...but I think they have for them also

check it out and use your discount if need be
the codes were emailed to Squad members a while back ...let me know if you need them

also for CVR just contact Chris ....let him know you are Squad and he'll hook you up...

no need to flip $500 for that ...

Hey ranks

Sad to say Prices at the dealer are a bit harsh. OEM price's on parts are redicilous! Brembo rotors especially.

I would suggest putting on after market rotors and pads.

I'm gonna need brakes soon too... but sure as hell not going to buy them from my dealer even with my discount.

I'm not part of G Squad but wanted to tell you of my experience. I have aftermarket pads on my G sedan that sometimes squeak a little in reverse. (I bought it with the aftermarket pads.) The dealer wants $600 smackaroos to put on OEM pads and turn the rotors. No way in hell am I gonna pay that. You are right, they must be out of their minds if they think I am dumb enough to pay that horses$%^! Just my 2 cents.......
