Dash vinyl/rubber warping

I was cleaning my interior yesterday afternoon and I discovered that the dash around my instrument cluster is starting to warp or peel up. Have any of you seen this? I think it'll be easy to remedy but I'm going to drive it down to the dealership and let them have a crack at it first.

I'm not sure whether this is due to poor craftsmanship or the sun. I live in Arizona and my car gets enough solar radiation that you'd think it'd glow in the dark. I'm pretty consistent putting up my sunshade and I keep the interior surfaces covered with 303 Aerospace protectant as well. Luckily the steering wheel keeps this out of my view, but I need it fixed.

I had the same exact problem on my car. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the entire thing for free. The guy told me it was good I pointed it out during warranty since it would cost me $900 if I didn't.

I think it's ridiculous that you'd find this on an 08. Mine is an 07 and I'm sure it wasn't like this before. It would have jumped out on me the last time I was washing the car....and that wasn't very long ago. I'll try to get my dealership to replace the whole thing too. We'll see if I have any luck. For some reason, people say no to a guy like me.

mines a 07 and is not as bad as yours at all in fact its hardly noticable, i just have the bottom edge rising VERY slightly but no gap on the top and not enough to see the foam inside.

Mine is like that too. I'm not even going to ask my dealer to fix it. Major Infiniti in KC will never fix anything for me. Anything that is cosmetic they tell you to F off. I'll never buy another car from them, ever!

I'll try Infiniti of Tucson and we'll see what they say. I think I've got a good shot over there. And knowing that Domesticdemon got his dealership to replace it is all I need to know.

my g35 is like that ever since it left the dealer lot. I don't have the yellow stuff but the material itself does not line up with the instrument cluster.

Ya this seems to be an issue with the car because I always see this. the dealer told me to wait a little longer till it gets worse so they can replace it

this most definitely is a warranty issue. if your dealer doesnt want to replace it, it will most likely be that they are already quite deep into their allowed warranty quota for the month.

check back with that dealer at the beginning of the month. if they still say no something aint right...

How does that work? Dealerships have a limited amount of warranty work that they can do each month? Every month it refreshes? Is it that simple?
