I took my car in to Infiniti of Modesto and they said it's normal, then they took me to their beat up loaner and it was doing the same thing. I didn't fight it as mine is not that bad and from all the horror stories being told here, I am kinda glad I didn't do it. Maybe later when it gets worse, I will take it back in.

 

noticed my second one yesterday is starting again

 

i work in automotive repair and i think theres some kind of law or regulation depending on state if theres a known problem with a car they cant keep replacing it and wait till your out of warranty to tell u that your FVcked.

for example they cant replace it up till warranty is over and try to charge u after...its like they are purposely selling a bad part to get you out of warranty period

 

does anyone have a copy of there invoice of the dealer changing out there scracted up steering wheel?

Yeah - the Dash warping is a known issue at Infiniti. You can get it replaced as many times as you like, but it will continue to warp and peal away from the dash. Its the same with the road noise in the Gs. The plastic strips along the roof will also loosen and warp after time letting more wind noise into the cabin. I don't know if any laws apply to appearance issues such as this - but it would be worth checking out since our cars will someday be out of warranty.

 

Almost forgot to mention - and not to hijack the thread - since I am on my warping car parts / known issues rant - our rear bumper will do the same as our dashboard, warp and flare out on the edges. Probably take a little longer then the dash, but mine has started to bow a bit.

 

Can you take a pic of that plz for the members (for reference).

 

I totally forgot about that! So far it is just one side of my bumper but I just try not to look at it. I noticed that about a year ago. Glad to hear I'm not the only one, it is really subtle though. I don't know think the normal person would notice, I just noticed it because I have an eye for detail.

 

im very familiar with how the BAR is in cali since i run a auto shop myself. the best thing is to bring everything to your dealers attention when u see it. regardless if they change it or not. for example i brought it in for my 3rd gear clunkc and they documented that they didnt find or duplicate it. now in a few years if my car does have tranny issues ill bring up the point u guys didnt do anything when i felt it long ago.

make sure they document EVERYTHING u feel is wrong or could be wrong in the future. hmmm u have photos of the bumper peeling?

E-Ticket Ride - I have attached a few images of the rear fender. It isn't horrible, but you can notice something is off..

 

hmm thats real minor...ill look at it.

this is different from the dash peel. the dash peel is from the glue not sticking. the bumper should be clips holding it.

 

Can someone post a pic so we can see what you all are talking about. In turn we can check ours out.
