Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

I ordered from Harte Infiniti, Hartford CT. Got 6MT Coupe, Nav, Prem, Aero and paid MSRP! I don't know about other dealers in the area, but I was forced to order because there were no cars in stock. Since I'm paying $37K+ for this car, I certainly was not going to worry a whole lot about a $500 discount.

Even without any discounts, in my opinion, this is one hell of a car for the money!

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

forgot to mention,
mine is a base 6mtC, with sunroof (which i love), trunk and rubber mats, splash guards.

545 destination, 92 for doc fees (nj std) and 98 (the bs dealer paperwork fee, found at all dealers).

they threw in the locks, cargo, wind deflector, oil change(s)

also they got me 3.90% from chase

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

I got the same deal as studly mobile (with his help)

My guess is that one of the reason's that douglas infiniti is willing to do this is 'cause of the competition from other dealerships. With Ray Catena Infiniti and the Flemmington Infiniti dealerships nearby, it's hard to sell.

Supposedly the Ray Catena is one of the biggest in the nation. I have to admit, they did have a nice dealership, but they didn't have the price I wanted. So I went with Douglas

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

SaltNutz,

Open your eyes and look around..... people all over the place are paying WELL UNDER sticker price, even for '04 mt coupes. The only place that people are still paying sticker seems to be in California.

Personally, I think it's smart to wait for the '04 model. Why? Simple-- most of the 1st year bugs will already be worked out, plus the fact that dealers will be more willing to sell the car at a discount.

I'm glad I waited. Driving around in the 1st G35 coupe in my area means nothing to me.

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

To answer the original post: As 'sauce said, use edmunds.com (2004 invoice not available, so use 2003 invoice prices). 2004 MSRP on "Tire and Wheel" pkg and 6MT coupe went up by $250...so it's reasonable to expect that invoice went up by slightly less than that on each (all other options should be same price).

As to paying MSRP: I paid slightly less than MSRP in CA(2004 ordered 6MT coupe), but it probably wasn't worth the effort. I contacted over half a dozen dealerships in Bay Area and other parts of Northern CA. Some chuckled when I offered less than MSRP over the phone. Others told me not to let the door hit me on the a$$ on my way out of the dealership when I tried to negotiate in person. Also used negotiation tactics that 'mobile used -- doesn't work in Bay Area, CA where median house prices and income are significantly higher than almost any other part of the country. End result? -- Got a few hundred off MSRP, but had to deal with a lot of arrogant and rude salesmen and travel 60 miles further than my closest dealer.

In the end, I probably would have less stress by just "blindly" paying MSRP. You figure out for yourself if it's worth the hassle saving about 1 percent.

I agreee with you. Not worth going through the hassle just for a few hundreds off. In the end this car is worth every penny at MSRP. I paid $100 offf MSRP. Still happy as hell.

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

That's some good info Kidfriedrice. I'm stationed at Travis AFB right next to Fairfield and I was wondering what the G pricing situation was like in the NorCal area. I'm hoping to get my G for around 35,000 before tax and license and I will be happy. I'm a AAA member and I'm going to go through them just to see if they can get me a good percentage or some sort of deal.........

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

I just picked up my 04 sedan w/ navi, premium and sport tuned for 300 over invoice. Go to the infiniti website, go to locate a dealer, locate every dealer within 150 miles of you and email every single dealer. Here's what I said:

Hello, I'm looking for an 04 Black w/ willow Sedan with the premium package, navigation, and sport tuned suspension. I'm ready to buy immediately. I have emailed other dealers and the lowest price will get my hassle free business right away.

I don't know about the coupe, but I had quite a few low offers of 200 over invoice, 100 over etc. etc. I chose the one I did because it was in stock and very close.

300 over invoice? pretty good. does invoice also include the 400 marketing cost?

After invoice, they charged 45 licensing, 5 dollar tire fee, 250 for advertising, 2600 for taxes and 250 for registration of the vehicle.

Re: Dealer costs aka invoice price

I don't know about you guys, but there was a lot less room for me to work with buying a 6MT vs an Auto. My buddy bought an auto Sedan and they were very willing to deal. On the 6MT, they seemed to not be as flexable. But, I still got 500 below MSRP on the 6MT Sedan, and love the car. BTW, these experiences were on an 04
