I see that theres a little white bar that slides into place to preven the door from opening when the car is locked, but mine doesnt move it just quivers and sticks. Anyways, any idea if it is easy to fix myself or am i going to have to take it to infiniti and end up paying like 300 bux in labor:0( Hmm would it be covered under warranty?

TIA
whoever told you to do that is an idiot. the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago with a g35x loaner. i called the dealer, they told me to turn the ignition on and off, and press the power doorlock switch to unlock twice. and it opened right up.

this problem has been occuring a lot with nissan/infiniti. happened to my dad's murano. why can't they just use a simple push button release. At least its proven technology. On my dad's murano, it had to be replaced 3 times. Once the gas door wouldn't open and we were in them mountains with gas tank light on. that was scarry.

Broke the fuel door lock, feel so sad. It stuck when I almost run out of gas, I just pull it hardly, saw a white stick from the lock come out. How much for the part?

Here's a link to an earlier string for this problem. Good info here and I added a "how to" to repair the mechanism.

There's so much good information here on our Driver forum dating back to 2002! Anyone buying a used G35 should attempt to read the great threads from the past 10 years if it pertains to an issue you're having...Gary
