Seating capacity?

Dear all, I am new to this forum and seriously thinking to buy G35 coup. I have not yet seen the car from inside (in person)or have test driven it. I have a seven seater SUV and thinking to buy it primarily for my self.I have three small children one with car seat. Is it possible to plce a car seat in the center of back seats, in case i need to travel with my family some times? Or is it possible to have three children sit at the back?thanks..

Re: Seating capacity?

A guy on this site modded his back seat to accomodate his 3 kids. He removed the console, had a seat cushion made with matching vinyl and installed a seat belt he bought at pep boys or something. It was quite a while ago but it looked pretty good. Do a search.

Re: Seating capacity?

Ah, that would be me...Yea I did a five seat conversion on my G35c6mt shortly after I bought it on 12-31-02, it's worked out really well. The new Pad has double stitching like the G's Seats and I can remove it & put the Rear Seat console back in when not in use. I had a local Upholsterer make it for me. I also have 3 Kids ages 8,10 & 11. There's plenty of room back there. I think a car seat in the middle position would work fine for you. Make sure you anchor the New center seat belts to the Two Factory inboard factory mounting points(on top of the existing Seatbelt mounts) w/lock nuts or locktite. I have since gotten Infiniti lap belts, I believe from a G-20 so they match the others. For a better Pic, go to the RIDES section under "RugRatCoupe"

Re: Seating capacity?

Thanks a lot guys for your responses. RugRatCoupe you are “Da Man” I was thinking of exactly something like that. You did a marvelous job on the back seat there. It looks like there was never a cup holder there. I was shying away from the coup because of this very reason but you guys have brought me back. Not that I don’t like G35 sedan but I think from the looks two look different animals. G35 looks like a garden-variety sedan (IMHO) while Coupe has a look of a classy sports car. Thanks again

I see what you mean, I noticed the marks also when I downloaded the Pic. Must of been a Dust mark or a wierd reflection. I don't have a car seat, & I walked out to the garage & it's not there now. O well...
