Where does Road & Track get their info?

In the July 06 issue they have an article about sequential transmissions. On page 134 they list the Infiniti G35 as having a 6-sp Auto, and that it comes with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters....

I think the new 07 Sedan is going to have this, so that must be what they are referencing, but they don't specify that.

Not a fan of R&T. Probably seems like a little thing but they advertise article/car reviews on their cover and then don't list them in their Table of Content. They want you to 'leaf' through their whole magazine looking... flipping past the ads... I don't think so...
Whew that felt good.. kinda cranky tonight.

Paddle shifters or not, the '07 G35 auto tranny will not be what can be called "sequential". It's an auto with a torque converter and manual shift-override.

The BMW SMG, VW DSG, and Ferarri F1 gearboxes are more along the lines of a "sequential" classification.

G35 in Japan has CVT and paddle shifters, not to say that he is exactly correct in his statement, but the sedan does come with paddle shifters

The 07 Sedan will have paddle shifters with the sport package...but I haven't heard that it will be a 6spd.

Davis has been with Car & Driver, Automobile and Motor Trend, but I don't think he has ever been with R&T.

R&T has always been a second rate mag.

The '07 sedan will have paddle shifters on the sport model and as for 5AT or 6AT, it has not really been announced, it very well could be a 6AT by the time the sedans hit the showroom. The '08 coupe could possibly have a 6AT since it is coming out later.
