So I managed to wreck my first bumper, with a solid dent in it and am probably going to need a new bumper. I figured I might as well get something better than the stock '05 bumper, but I have a few questions as my experience with cars is very limited.
Do "custom" bumpers cost more than the stock bumpers? For example, is the nismo bumper much more? Any other suggestions for a different bumper and where to get it from?
Also, does the '06 bumper fit on '05s? And would it cost anything more?
Lastly, how much will this most likely cost anyways?
Thanks for any input!

Just had a friend wreck his stock 06 bumper, it was $600 painted from the dealer for just the bumper. You can get the Nismo replica in polyurethane for $500 and it'll cost around $200 to get it painted. So aftermarket will be a little more expensive than stock. Yes the 06 bumper will fit the 05's

I think I might just go with the '06 as it would be a much easier process. Anybody get an '06 bumper from the dealer and installed? Price? Also, would the bumper be painted by the dealer? I have the '05 silver and to my understanding it's different than the '06.
He had to replace the bumper the foam insert and the support bar (aluminum peice behind the bumper) It was ~$1200 painted and installed from the dealer.

he ran into the back of an suv going ~20 and hit the tow hitch. If you just have a dent in the bumper the foam should have impacted most of it and you'll just have to replace the bumper.

i dont see why not, they just need your paint code. If you're gettin it done at the dealership they'll be able to pull it up through your VIN#.

Shouldn't be a problem. I have an '03 Coupe and had a '06 bumper installed when a F-150 scraped across the front of my car. Everything fit fine. I think it was like around $600.00-700.00 dollars, but the other guys insurance covered it all.
Good luck,
