Stillen 5AT Coupe Valve body
Hey guys...so most of the time I drive my car in MM...I like to keep the car in the power band btwen 4-6k rpms....juice is always there but it sucks on mpg.
Anyways I wanted to know how many people here have had the Stillen (or any other) valve body control modification performed on their transmission. According to the Stillen website, their valve body control mod significantly increases the speed and feel of the shifts. This is something I have been thinking about because I do think there is a little too much lag in btwn shifts - expecially from 3-4. I was hoping to get some feeback from you guys first to see if it is really worth the money. Another big question I had was whether or not this mod would void my warranty??? The tranny is not something I wanna mess with especially since I am only at 6k mi.
Also thinking about the Stillen Stage 2...heard the valve body mod greatly impoves shift feel and timing.
Thanks,
J

don't do valve body upgrades unless the shop is local and has done a few - nothing worse than shipping out the core and getting back a piece of ****.
I LOVED my transgo shiftkit on my mustang; however, I probably would not do it again - I had mine drilled out to full race bore (because i've ridden in others on the 1st and 2nd setting and honestly, it wasn't very noticeable) and after about a year had some tranny problems...but still, it was hilarious barking the tires at 1.5K RPM at like 1/100 throttle.
And then one of my friends who also had it done on full race bore ended up ****ing up his tranny about 2yrs later - stock parts are not meant to shift that fast and hard.
