valentine1? laser?? what do u think if i do this??
i am getting the valentine1 but i heard its superb for radar detecting but for cops that use laser guns, you are [censored]..
So how about if i do this -
Put a valentine 1
Put a Laserblinder in the front grille
Put K40 in back.
I know valentine 1 is good but i dont think it helps too much if the cop is using laser..
Also who knows how many % of cops in NJ use laser guns?

ummm well thats probaly the best set up u can do but even with the laser defelters they will still get u it just takes longer. Laser is not ur friened. As far as how many cops have it well it depends on the county. I know in cleveland very few cops use it if any because its to exspensive. The city cant afford to buy them. NJ has more money then cleveland so im sure more cops have them.

Well ive been reading. the laser def. warns you when they cops are trying to take a reading and it kinda f***s up their [censored] so they dont get a speed reading.. so the advice i saw on one of the websites was Slow down to legal limit and turn the deflector off.. Im still thinking you are better off with valentine + deflectors instead of just valentine 1.
and BTW i would be travelling a lot between NJ,Delaware, and MD

I have an escort 8500 with the ZR3 laser shifter. I installed the ZR3 after getting a ticket for 14 over in a 45. I don't make it a habit to speed, but with a hot car you are always a target regardless of the rest of the cars you may have been keeping pace with. I simply was following the other cars and didn't pay attention to my speed. The 8500 gave a warning but didn't give me enough time to slow down. I suspect the Valentine 1 alone will not improve the warning time. The cop said that he only needed 2 seconds of lock on my car with the laser to be able to write me a ticket. Needless to say a couple of extra seconds to wax off 14 MPH would have saved me a ticket and subsequent fight in court. The ZR3 integrates into the 8500 and will now provide me enough time to get on the breaks and avoid a ticket.
Here's a link to the install I did:

ive had the V1 ever since i got my coupe and it has saved me a bunch of times. the lasers are something u have to watch out for but i doubt there is something that will give u those precious few sec to slow down. When it comes to all the other signal bands the V1 is the best. i drove up to detriot late june this year.....8 hr drive from SW VA. and yea this one cop in ohio was using a laser but luckily i wasnt really going fast. it pretty much just gave me a 1-2 sec warning. as far as the other signals u pretty much get 5-6 sec warning depending obviously on how fast you are going but trust me its enough for u to slow down as long as ur not going too fast.

If they are shooting the laser constantly, you should get a warning if you are closing in on them. If you get intermittent laser alerts, SLOW DOWN!!! Remember, they have to see you.

Laser is like radar but instead of stray radar waves which can be picked up by a detector....Laser is instant..... laser warnings are rare on my V1....but....IF and WHEN you do get a laser warning...BE PREPARED TO ACT BABY!

Actually both are instant. The only reason radar is picked up so easily compared to laser is because it has a much wider beam area compared to laser. Radar spreads whereas laser is a more concentrated beam. The concentrated beam allows POs to specifically target single cars out of a group, so that's why the instant your laser detector goes, you're pretty much caught.
