I took my G in for service 2 days ago, for a new tire , alignment, and window roll up creeks... a few of which were not convered under warranty, but my service dealer through it in there anyways.. I pick up my G today and there is a fat scratch on the bottom of the lip of the front end spoiler and it looks as if my car had been hit in the back from scratches of another car.. I yelled debated and urged the dealer to fix it, but they accused me that the front side had been painted from some other company and he had no excuse for the other accident in the back... THE INFINITI DEALER WAS AT THE TUSTIN INFINTI DEALERSHIP IN ORANGE COUNTY... Warning to you all, dont trust them.... THEY TREAT OUR CARS LIKE DIRT... THEY DONT CARE AT ALLL.. and if they do something, they will blame it on you.. take pictures of ure car through a digital camera before you give it in or show your service dealer manager scratches or alterations that have happened to your car before giving it in... so THEY KNOW what you have done, so that they can see what THEY DID when the car comes out of service... sorry... im jsut extremely upset and hurt that I spent 40k on this car, yet they cant even manage to make a customer happy... f*ckin ridiculous

I am very sorry to hear about your damaged G, however I am not too surprised. This unfortunately is not an uncommon occurrence. I was at my dealership a few weeks ago and saw this Q45 peeling around the corner, looked more closely and yup, a "service technician" was behind the wheel. I don't think that this problem is exclusive to Infiniti. I feel your pain. You should go to another dealer for all future service if this is an option. Good luck and peace.

 

I usually take mine into Costa Mesa Infiniti and they ALWAYS do an inspection before they take the car. I asked why and the service rep said it was in case I accuse them of mistreating or damaging it. He had a little picto map on paper to mark where any scratches, dents, or blemishes are. That makes me feel a little better. HOWEVER, I did catch the tech's gunning the throttle and driving more than too fast for a dealership parking lot. Once I told the guy when he got out of the car if I saw that again I'd have his job. Second time I gave the tech the evil eye and he made a quick exit. I then talked to the service rep and he said he would make sure it never happened again. I have been in several times since and had no issues yet. My advice, GIVE THEM HELL. C ya. eventhough I live close to tustin Infiniti, I still take mine to mission viejo, they seem much nicer there and did a visual inspection before taking it in.

Thats good that you gave them hell but in other ways its bad. It is bad because if you scream at the tech then they will hate you and when you are not there they give your car a far worse treatment, and you will never even know about it. So there is no way you can win. It is sad that we shell out close to 40K for a car and get a shitty treatment in the service bay. Rant mode off

 

MIssion Viejo has great service, I need to go back there again, I think my passenger window is acting funny after they fixed the grease marks. And don't let them wash your car, I got some swirls when they washed it(i should have said no on the car wash, but I forgot).

compain to inifiniti head office, get their number from www.inifini.com they will work with you !!! you must complain !!! i did for my G and they took care everything, dealer were calling me and write me letters !!! trust do just complain, most people just lazy to call but one call make big different

 

This morning ... wow... the service manager who decided to yell at us yesterday ... came to my house? ODD but he apologized and said that there was nothing that he can do , but he can get me a whole sale price on re-painting the front part of the car.. the price that infiniti pays to get something painted... I dont know how much it costs as of yet, but i find it really strange how he just drove all the way to my house... Isnt that illegal or something?

Bill Padilla at Santa Monica Advantage Nissan seems to be a great guy. He has taken a personal interest in my coupe; we talked about (and he admired) the partial debadging and clear corners I put on, and he helped me with aluminum pedals.
I will trust him -- and the dealership -- when I need service.

If they damaged your "G" then you should not have to pay ANYTHING!

Coming to your house is an admission of guilt in my book.

Something like this happened to my son's A4 and after several calls to the Service Manager and to Audi Customer Service, the dealer (which I will leave unnamed for now) paid for the repair from a shop they use for all their cars.

 

Same thing happened to me at the dealer, even when you call the GM. They all refuse the blame and blame it on you. Like I've said it before, never take your car to Fields Infiniti in Glenview, IL.

 

Damn It, that is the dealer where I am getting my car at! The Montclair Infiniti is alot closer to my house than Tustin but I am getting it there because they have the car I want coming in 2 weeks. Is it possible to go to other dealers for service?

 

Absolutley. I bought my coupe at Costa Mesa, but had my brake switch TSB done at Tustin, at the same time as my SAT installation. I'll be a little more careful next time when I consider Tustin, but it did come out without a single scratch.
