Nailing It

Ok, guys I need your opinions/advice. Apparently last night while travellling the interstate I got a nail in my back passenger side tire. I took it to a reputable tire-repair center this morning and they patched it for me. My question is how long do you all think I will be able to go with a patched tire. My car was bought on November 5th 2002 and currently has 9100 miles on it. I know these Pilot Sports aren't cheap, but at the same time I want to keep the G as close to *new* like condition as possible. I appreciate any feeedback with this...thanks!!

Re: Nailing It

im no expert on this, but its my understanding that a correctly done patch/plug will last longer than the original tire.

I agree with "redwillow" they patch tires from the inside and the patch is very strong and durable, it should outlast the life of the tire with no problems.

Re: Nailing It

Thanks guys! Now I don't have to stress out about it. However, it does seem like everything "bad" just happens to this car...from rocks flying from nowhere to mystery dings, there really is no end. These things happen to everyone I guess...it is just a car...a really *nice* car. Ironically, my old Jetta never had any rock chips nor any patched tires...go figure!
