bat's overlays did not fit my tailights properly... had a professional installer of 16 years put them on and the cutouts would not line up no matter what he did... if he got the turn signal and brake light to match up, the reverse light was off...if he got reverse light and brake light to match up, turn signal was off... he finally gave up the ghost and told me that painting them was a much better solution... he made mention that the vinyl was thin and cheap and that the shine was not there... that was the same impression i got while watching him struggle to get the cutouts to line up...
brought this to bat's attention...he wanted the single unused overlay sent back to issue refund... i think it ridiculous for him to ask me to take the time to package up a single 1$ overlay...go to the post...and pay for shipping just to get a refund of 45$... my opinion of bat is that his customer service is nil and his product is not worthy of a G... just my 2 cents from my experience with him...

Hard to believe a professional installer of 16 years had a hard time with it while many of bat's customers did it themselves and they have many pictures on the forum to prove it. Maybe you just have to take it to some other shop to have it installed. At least he offered you a refund. I don't see what else he could have done for you.

and granted, it seems some individuals have had luck with his overlays... i'm not disputing that nor am i trying to bash his product...(even though the quality, from my standpoint, was non-existent)... could be that mine were miscuts...who knows... my whole beef is the fact that he didn't stand behind his product without some ridiculous expectations from me, his client...

If this isnt bashing Bats product, I dont know what is. They're Overlays; you should have known about its quality in the first place. It's a sticker, not a silver cover made by Tiff.&Co. Another note, what merchant would just give a full refund without getting their product returned. It's like saying I bought a product from an online merchant and it wasnt functioning (because I didnt know how to use it) when I got home so give me a refund but I'm not gonna return the merchandise. Everybody would be up on that scam.
The installer of 16 yrs apparently wasnt a pro...did mine myself the first try and came out perfect with no bubbles granted it took a while to install.

Exactly! You want a refund, return the product, its that simple. I even offered the guy another set or half a refund for the one overlay he had remaining too. I do my best to please my customers, many of you know that. As far as the tinter goes, it really doesn't matter how many days or years experience he has. Bottom line is, has he ever applied overlays like mine? It's not a TINT material, it's a vinyl overlay, a bit different. Many tint shps have installed my Overlays with no issues.
One more point. Oakley charges what? 100-200 for a pair of sunglasses, which cost maybe $5 to make. Your glasses break and you want a refund. You realy think Oakley will refund your money without their product in return? I don't think so...
btw Chad. Nice effort on the Overlays .
