I just got my G serviced for a rattle, and now I hear a new one (or is it the same..). It seems to come from the sunroof area. It happens on bumpy roads, or going slowly over speed bumps at an angle, etc. Strangely, it goes away when the sunroof is tilted up.. anyone else get this one?

 

hey, i just took mine in 3 days ago for the exact same problem. they greased the rails, and tightened something in the headliner area (don't remember what exactly). anyway, good luck, you are not alone!

I have the same problem. It's been "fixed" 4 times by the dealer - each time involving a little bit of lube. That usually quiets it for a few weeks. I hope I'll get a more satisfactory fix the next time I'm in.

 

same problem here, except the lube is no longer lasting more than 4-5 days.

Just turned my g35 today....10/01/03 and got a loaner car. I hear the same thing where you are hearing. Mine has a "thump" noise. I had to file a detailed area where the creek and thump noise is. Wish me luck on the the servicing and hope they fix the problem.

 

where are those rattle from your car ..?
i got my car back for the service and to fix the rattle ..
but on my way home .. rattle again .. shiit ....well...i think i will give up to fix it or wait til they know how to get it done perfectly ...
also .. they didnt even help me to fix my dirver side window ..

 

if u can't live with creaks and rattles in your coupe then maybe it is time to get different car. i learn to just turn the stereo up a bit and just enjoy the ride. sunroof is very sensitive, mine squeks and creaks not to mention rattles specially early morning when it is cold. can't imagine how bad it will be in the winter. so guys just crank your stereo up or drive with the sunroof open when the weather is nice, that is what i do. they will have to redesign it to make it quite, lubing won't work.

you know the loaner car that they gave me.....g35 sedan doesn't rattle or creek.....but I love my coupe! Haven't heard from Monrovia Infiniti yet......more to come.

 

Bo.....the creeking sound is gone! The slide panel to the sunroof/moonroof is a little tight and snug when you try sliding it back, but I drove home without the radio on and not even one creek or thud from the roof. Smooth and quiet.

 

At first I was all uptight about the rattles and sunroof squeeking, but after taking the twisties I could careless about the noises it makes (as long as it's not as anoying as the rear shelf rattle wich i got fixed) I just sit back drive and enjoy...
Oh, and after driving my mom's 96' Camaro... my car seemed quieter after that ride.

That is good news Surewin! Did they say what they did? My guess is they probably tightened something up and not just lube it. I was impressed with them (Metro), the fact that they only chrged me $50 for my 7,500 service when I waived the wheel balance instead of the full price. Also only took no more than 45 min, they also fixed the recall on brake light switch and the seat heater harness within that short period.

I seen on the parts inventory they used Felt Tape, and 2 pieces of urethane.
When I called them to pick up my car, they said "we had to put more padding."
Went through driveways, speed bumps....no more creeking noise.

 

Nice to see something got fixed.
I have a rattle when the sun roof is open. Is that what you all are talking about?
The dealer did say they lubed it when I complained, but that did not fix it.
I also had the rear shelf rattle, which they did fix correctly! Afterward, even the Bose sounded better!!
