Good news from the dealership
Just writing to brag a little. I've got an 03 Coupe 6MT with the Brembos, and I've got 43K miles on the original pads. I had the dealership do my state inspection, and they told me that the pads are only 50% used. They said I can expect at least 20K more miles before I need to change the pads, and they expect to be able to turn the rotors and keep them going for a long time.
Thank God for not having to change the brakes. I'm scared to death of that repair cost.

Personally I trust the dealership over some people on this forum when it comes to brake wear. I know the service manager personally, and I don't think he would bullsh!t me on wear issues. A lot of people here say their brakes wore out ridiculously fast, but I have a hard time believing that they're driving conservatively. You don't get < 20K on your pads by normal driving. The service manager claims that several other G owners have made it to 50K and beyond on their Brembos, and I don't doubt it.
The good news is that they're ridiculously expensive to replace, so longer life equals lower repair costs. And I can really use that extra money to pump into replacing these tires.

they are not expensive to replace...the pads for the front and rear ar like 300-400 depending on the kind of pads you buy...I dont know why people buy this car and then go cheap on the 2 things that are most important - tires and brakes - "...ooo I saved 50 bucks on my brakes but hey my life isn't worth more than that to me..."

I'd be replacing the pads with the OEM Brembo's - as you said, your life is worth the extra money. So clarify the cost statement for me. Do you know how much a pair of front Brembo brake pads costs (parts only)?

Oh and I'm not skimping on the tires either - these Pilots are killing me. I didn't expect to have to replace the rears every 25-30K miles. I can afford it, but it's still expensive.

I'm also one of those that has Brembo's and will not put cheaper pads. I will look and search around the internet for the best price, but I will buy Brembo pads. And for example, G35Everything I think has the brembo pads for around $140. I love the dealer, but some parts I'm just gonna buy on the internet, since I'm getting the same product just cheaper, just like splash guards, I bought from Grubbs for $70 instead of $220 that I would pay at Infiniti.
And as for the wear, I was at about 50% before winter, and my pads had still same amount of "meat" on them after the winter, and I have 28K miles. It is possible for the pads to last if you don't drive like you stole it or like you still go to high school. I love to floor it, but if you see a red light ahead or traffic, what point is it to speed up just to slam on the brakes. You can still go fast, you just gotta know when, keeping the safe distance will safe you bunch of money on gas, brakes, and everything else. Have fun but be smart and safe.

I have approx 36k miles on my 03 6MT. Have your buddy at the dealership check the inside pads on the rear. My pads looked fine - lots of wear left - EXCEPT for the inside rears. Which were almost down to bare metal. Seems like a lot of folks experience the same thing. It's a little harder to get a peek at these, and your friend may not have gone to the effort if everything else looked OK.
I replaced just the rear pads. May have to do the fronts in 10k miles, by the looks of things.
(BTW - if you think the pads are expensive, wait till you price the rotors!)

The guy also told me about the rotor expense - he said they had some idiot come in who had cut the rotors on all four wheels. He said the labor + parts came to over 3K, mostly due to the cost of the rotors. Of course we all know that the dealership lays a huge markup on both parts and labor, but still - I'd shoot myself before I'd let that happen.
