Do '04s Have More Problems?

I recently purchased a 2004 coupe and it seems that there are more problems relating to this model year (brakes, rattles, feathering of tires) than other years. Did I pick a lemon year?

No.....................!

The brakes seem to be the main issue for me. Had
them replaced at 10K.....pads were actually splintering! Even though Infiniti replaced them I
don't understand Nissan putting out s*itty quality
pads. Any tire wear problems your having are probably due to balance/alignment issues.

No way. 04's are a Godsend. I have both an 03 and 04 coupe. The 03 has been problem after problem. The 04 has been solid as a rock.

They definately worked out a lot of the problems in the 04s. Especially if its an 04.5

No issues with my 04 and it is from the first batch 07/03 production date. Just the normal stuff, replaced driver window motor, TSB for drift to right, replaced pads at 12,000 miles under warranty. I think (no offense to 03 owners) if you stay away from the first year you should be ok. Of Course the later models 05 and 06 have gotten just about everything ironed out. Now let's see what happens with the new and improved 07 sedan!

One thing I can't stand is that my 06 has the same annoying wiper chatter for the lower half of the drivers-side wiper. My 03 had awful chattery wipers and they did the TSB and it all went away accept for lower half of drivers-side wiper...can't believe the 06 still has that stupid problem. BogaGCoupe says he has the same wiper problem on his 05, haha.

wow i thought it was just mine... how sad... glad to know it's a problem with these cars.

My '04 has been flawless (knock on wood) so far, now at 18,000 miles.

My '04 is fine. The little things like mirror and sunroof rattle, and other stuff, are fixed under warranty. As for tire feathering, I just rotated and flipped my tires and I'm probably gonna do the alignment next. It's not all that bad, I'm at 28K miles and front tires have more than 50% left.
My brembos and graphite leather on IP makes up for any improvements Infiniti has made to the later models.

Main problem with mine was the squeeky brakes. After bringing the car to the dealer twice I finally replaced it with aftermarket and problem solve. Power window went out replaced under warranty. Radio CD inop replaced under warranty. Rattles, well I just learned how to live with it. Other than that my car has been a dream to drive and own.

This is why I never buy a new car in it's first year of production. Why go through the additional aggravation. I have an '04 and have not have any major problems...
