Start-up idle?

I've had my car for less then a week...and im experiencing some idle trying to start-up the car...it ticks for a sec or two before it finally starts...is it normal?

Re: Start-up idle?

Is this your first car?

Please explain to me how you experience idle BEFORE the car starts, I gotta hear this one! If you're talking about whether it fires up immediately or if it cranks once or twice, then yes, it does crank once or twice. Check the mod forum for the Hyper Grounding kits that one of the mods is selling. They speed up how fast the car starts and improve idle.

And for the record, idle is what the car does when its sitting still in park. Basically when the engine is hovering around 500 rpm's or so. The engine has to run in order to idle!

Re: Start-up idle?

Well this is my second. But since the car is NEW, i really don't expect such behavior from happening. It cranks more than 5 times to fire up usually (once or twice happens rarely)...that sound normal? And yes i'm also considering the grounding kit but that gonna cost me another 100 bux or so on a brand new car...doesn't really make sence. Well, if thats the case...than I really need to get the kit lol. Or, maybe im just being too skeptical.....

the first thing (and easiest thing) I would do is change gas stations.

Re: Start-up idle?

That used to happen a lot on my old accord v6 it got to the point that the damn thing wouldnt even start sometimes for like 30 minutes. Changed gas stations and problem was gone.
