Rough idle

Do any of you have rough idling? I can feel the engine loping, like a performance car with a hot cam (but not as servere). Do any of your G's do this?

Re: Rough idle

I wonder why it does that? I thought the G35 suppose to be more towards luxury

Re: Rough idle

Dunno.. I'm not happy about it. My maxima (also a VQ) engine did this. Drove me crazy. I even had plugs and injectors checked (wouldnt accept dealership 'its normal' line). After seeing most other maximas and i30/5's do it, I just let it go. While I've driven Ls430's that have a SMOOTH engine, I've also felt much worse in crappy rental cars.

Again, while I'm not happy with it, spend some time in a 4 or 6 cyl pontiac or ford and feel/hear those engines. You'll gain alittle more appreciation for you what you have now. Still tho, I do expect Vq's to be smoother :/

Re: Rough idle

chang, its a known issue in the 6MT.... known by who, you ask? by me! haha
I've noticed this stuttering a while ago. Its only a 6MT thing, when the revvs drop to 550-600 while in neutral, you feel it. The easiest solution would be to reprogram your ECU so that minumum idle is at 750 or more RPM

Re: Rough idle

Nice to know I'm not the only one. The only thing that tips it off to me is when my leg rests against the door and I can feel the engine vibrations. Kinda wierd that a $35k lux car does this. Engine mounts not ideal maybe? Or just a lopy idle?
