Rear active steering turns the back wheels a few degrees depending on how much you turn the front wheels. It makes the car handle better, and makes the turning radius smaller

I couldn't tell you how the car drives without it but coming from a car that didn't handle very well, my g outperforms and takes turns very nicely at nice speeds and doesn't slip

My dealer told me that people have issues with it at higher speeds. He said that you have to keep correcting the front to compensate for the rear. Is that true?

Does anyone know the mechanism the is behind this? I been under the car many times, lowered it and all and still, I can't find any physical mechanism that would change the rear wheel steering angle. No pinons or anything. Thanks.

i could be very wrong but i HIGHLY doubt it is available anywhere except the factory........ and you'd know if you had it if you paid $750 extra for an 06

+1..

i dont know if u can just have them install it on the older models, but i dont see why not..anyway it has a faster 15.1:1 steering gear ratio as opposed to the 15.9:1 steering gear ratio that comes with the car without the rear active steer package

Super Hi-cas

Rear Active steer on the 06's should be a small control box with steering arms that come out of it near the diff..

How does it affect the car?? In a high speed turn you may feel it "slip" the rear end out on you a little. Feels like you are gonna loose it for a split second. Most people don't like the feeling, and tend to compensate when it kicks in. Most track drives will remove all of that stuff if they frequent track events.

Personaly I'd get it to have the faster steering ratio on my car.

kinda sounds like one more thing that could go wrong and break and cost you a lot of money
