Re: Lights - the final answer!

has anyone ever installed both the 19172 (xtreme white) and the 19263 (White LED) that can tell me the diffusion difference? i wanna think that the 19172 wont be as extremely "concentrated" as the LED because i like the way my amber corner bulb diffuses. also every picture ive seen on this thread looks satisfactory - good to me diffusion wise. the LED totally look like a white circle in my clear corner, dunno how it looks from the front tho. if someone can give a comparison by personal experience, i might use the LED for my rear license or something

Re: Lights - the final answer!

At $30 a pair, I expected them to be SPECTACULAR...

but it looks just like the PIAA white/white LEDs. How disappointing...
and I was actually thinking about ordering those... =(

I got mine from here.. http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm

I got the WLED-W6.. these are 194 6 wide led bulbs and it spreads it more than the 4 bulb piaa that I've seen.. plus they're cheaper.. and no matter how many you order its just $5 shipping

Well, the LEDs he offers are spectacular, its just the white ones don't work well with the clearance light. You need a forward emitting LED for best results. The white LEDs he uses emit most of their light from the sides. Any other color he makes should be forward emitting. The white LEDs are "spectacular" in the license plate though, where forward emitting is not required.

If I'm using PIAA's, what do I use for the license plate? 19172? Wedge bulbs?

The plates use the same bulbs as the corners and the marker lights.

Re: Lights - the final answer!

My experience with cheap lights left me replacing them every two months on my old ride. Since its a hastle to change them on the G, I only want to do it once. They do look nice in your pic tho...

Re: Lights - the final answer!

If I want to make the 4 bulbs (high beam, low beam, wedge strip, and side marker) match as much as possible, what are the best options? Replace the low beam with a Philips 6000k and use PIAA Extreme White wedge bulbs?

Are the PIAA Super Plasma 4300K or CATZ bulbs the best match to the stock low beams?

Any advice is appreciated!

Re: Lights - the final answer!

I just got 2 pairs of PIAA Super Plasma wedge bulbs #19170 for the side markers and clearance lights. I've liked how the MTEC's looked on all other G's so I just ordered a pair of those for the fogs.

My PIAA's were about $24 for both pair and the MTEC's were like $29 both shipped. Best deals I feel on quality and price definitely.

Once it stops raining in damn PA at my school I'll go out and put them on...along with a nice washing and thorough front wheel clean since i'll just take them off cause its much easier that way.

I'll post some pics of the finished product probably next week sometime..
