the higher temperature rating you go, the less visibility you actualli get.. wouldn't realli recommend you getting anything higher than 6000K.. i've had three different sets of aftermarket HID systems in my last car, and the 5200K had the most output compared to (6000K, 7500K)..

i can get them cheaper i was acutally researching this and i decided to get the 8000 k bulbs from philips. Ill get a price and who ever wants it ill hook it up. For sure i got it cheaper than 125

Whoever has aftermarket 6000K, 8000K, etc. Xenon bulbs...how is the light output?? Does it increase illumination or does it just change the color? I have heard that when you go over 4300K for Xenon bulbs, it actually works against you because we actually cannot see the brighter effects it has or whatever.

Agreed, the higher the Kelvin rating (more blue/purple color) the less Lumens (light output) there is for night driving. I'm thinkin the same that around 4500-6000k seems to be the optimal. Higher than that an all your getting is Super Purple ricey color, with less usable light, (My opinion). Peace
