Well, remember the manual has more aggressive ratios through all the gears than the automatic. I'm not really sure why you say 3rd gear should be the strongest gear... 1st is.. and it always would be. Each upshift is reducing your mechanical advantage so, as long as you stay in the power band, higher gears will accelerate slower than lower gears, and the manuals 3rd is lower than the autos 3rd.
6mt's .. have more high end ..and rev up higher...that could be one factor... u might want to try and do an ECU reset... or as some one said earlier ..... go Dyno both of ur cars ..and post a DYNO SHEET... maybe u can get more help with that provided..

by the way truplaya good luck with selling ur car i saw it on ebay..what do u plan on getting next? i already made my decision to get a C55 AMG with full evosport stage 3 package..rims.. and some other exterior mods.

Given that in 1st both 5at and 6mt are traction limited, and we both stay in second gear very briefly, the difference is 3rd. 5at's 3rd gear has an overall ratio of 4.94 whereas the 6mt's 3rd is 5.74. That's a huge mechanical advantage for the 6mts. They'll pull on us every single time in that gear.
Now if you were to go from a roll of say 70, you'd be near the top of your third but he'd be in 4th and you'd pull away. That is until you shift into 4th, and then he'll pull on you again.

^^yes but that doesnt prove anything to the fact that i hit 4th gear and i still couldnt shake him. In a nut shell this is what happened we were at a light maken a left onto a straight away highway. I was up first the light turns green and i smash it dip in and out and i must of had 10 cars on him. THen bam he is on my bumper. At this point i had slowed down a little then all of a sudden i shift into 3rd and i cant really say we started to race then cuz really the race started as soon as the light turned green but anyway i shift into third and he just hangs on my bumper i shift into 4th he is still on my bumper. which i thought cool im AT and his MT i guess were about even and im a little faster from the digg. then he told me he let of the gas 3 times while he was on my bumper. Thats the part that confuses me why if we are the same car same engine even if he is MT and im AT why was mine so much slower in 3rd gear (Once i shifted into THird Gear) my RPMS werent climbing fast enough
The reason your car messed up is because 5AT have a gear ratio of 3.33 which is horrible N/A. The 6MT cars have shorter gears 3.53.. A lot of FI G35's need the longer gears. I found a TT G35 in my local area who wanted to swap. The gears make a huge difference trust me...

ALso i raced a stock 2006 wrx and we were neck and neck up until 50 and then he just walked 1 and a half cars on me.. Ive come to the conclusion something is wrong with my car its fine no clunking no transmission problems no squeeks (except for my rear axle needs to be lubricated) and no ECU light i dont know whats wrong my tire pressure sensor is light up but thats because my stock 18s were low and i never put air in them cuz 2 days later i put new rims and tires on my car thinking it was going to reset itself but it never did.

The excuse for the WRX is that he was a crappy driver. He should have taken you off the line and left you in his dust. He probably didnt rev high enough when he launched. The 06 WRX's are VERY fast! Dont underestimate them just because they're not STI's. My little brother has a new WRX, and he pulled on me when his car was stock! Now, the only way I can step up is FI. Seeing how he pulled away from me... no NA mod can give me that much gains.
