I would double check that if I was you...there are remaining payments and residual payment, your remaining payment might be 15k that doesnt mean thats all you owe on the car, what you owe is roughly remaining payment minuse interest plus the residual, since you said you have two more year remaining on the lease so my guess is that you are owe way more than 15k at this point.

What is your monthly lease payment now? and what is the length of the lease?

I would say that you would be able to get out of the lease without too much pain, but to make $8k on it? Cars depreciate. Unless this is a year or so ago and you owned a Prius hybrid.
