In case anyone wondered how this supercharger testing is conducted, i received an response after emailing them:

Vortech will need your vehicle for about 1 month. You will need to deliver the vehicle to Vortech for vehicle calibration testing. The install will be free, and the price of the kit will be at the distributor pricing level, which is approximately 22% off of retail price. Vortech is located in Oxnard California.

I personally think this is ridiculous. They want us to buy their product so they can use our cars to test it. I'm not sure how intensive the tests are, but considering it's testing forced induction, i'm pretty sure our cars will take a beating. And they want us to bring the car to them and leave it for a month? I think this is pretty ridiculous, i would not trust my G with anyone.

That same (lame)offer was made over a year ago to me.
No way would I give my car to vortech for 30 plus days and pay for the kit at the same time. I was told over a year ago that they didn't care that much about the VQ engine, and, they were interested in the Mustang.
I would never use there services.

I got the same response. Completely unacceptable terms. There is no way that I am paying them to use my car as a test mule for their products. What kind sense would that make?

What other company would charge you to test their product even if you did get to keep it in the end? Especially when their "testing" will take a month and could do untold damage to your car. I guess they really don't care.

From my understanding, they are basically just testing the fitment of the kit. The SC kit is already available so it's not like they need an 06 to develop a completely new kit. They would basically just test the fitment of all parts and see if anything needs to be adjusted or changed. If my 06 was already broken in and I was assured of getting it back in 5 days like J, I would do it.

The problem is they need to develop the management as well. "Oops, went a little too lean there..." "Oops, a little knocking there..."

+1, the 05-06 6MT's have different ECU's than 03-04 6MT's because of the new Rev-Up motors. 06 5AT have the non rev-up motor, therefore there already some people with Vortech's installed on 06 5AT's. Theres no way Id ever leave my car there for 30 days unless they rented me an M5 for that testing period. 5 Days is doable, and even THEN, id still want the kit for free

Cool

Say WHAT?!?!

Lesee... we provide them with a $41,000 car for free. OK chalk up $41,000.00
Now we provide transportation to them. OK, that'd be $2800.00
Now we also provide them with the car that WE pay for insurance on (figuring no payments as the car was paid for cash) but insurance is just under $200 for the month. Chalk up $200.00

Alrighty then, we're now at $44,000.00 even out of pocket for the month.

Now we get the really great deal (NOT) at 22% off list for the product that they are testing on our car. Uh hello... I've sold a lot of car products and a hellava' lot of home products. Televisions have maybe 22% markup, but everything else will have 45%~55% EASILY!!! If they are selling to their dealers at 22% off the dealers are getting screwed, (find another product mister dealer).

The REAL deal would be a 100% warranty on any and all damages as well as a 12/12 warranty on the engine and SC system. Plus the system if costing anything, would be at dead production cost. This should be 1/5th of dealer cost, or 20% of dealer cost. (That's if the test mule owner pays anything.) It's either that, OR they buy their own $41,000.00 vehicle and run the crap out of it for 30 days.

JMHO of course, your mileage will vary.
