just monday, i pulled a dbs (dumbb!tchsyndrom) move and forgot to lock in my carbon fiber hood, was on a windy bridge and yea you can guess the rest. i noticed my hood start to vibrate.

"OHHH SSH!!!!!!!!TT!!!!"

5 seconds later, carbon fiber came up and over 65mph and the only time my sunroof was closed drivin on this bridge, moon roof cover back and black glass shattered all over me and the interior, got some cuts on my neck and forearm, was like,

"WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" (times font 1000 and yea pissed)

so now, sunroofless and hood lodged in, got a norcal g35 meet this sun in fairfield (search for it if ya havent signed up yet)...

need a lil help:

the best way to hammer the hinges at least back into functional order, some pics would help, and i'll get em up too.

any online junk yeard for a used 03 sunroof.

so did the CF hood come off and landed on the sunroof? i cant picture the sequence of things.

 

it was pretty bad, lets say it fill up to the brim the center cup holders.

so i was drivin, up comes the hood and the wind whips it back onto the sunroof, glass came shatterin down, all bad, my windows was down so a mix of 65mph bridge wind, glass shards, more than half my vision gone, while tryin to react fast enough to pull of into the slow lane before the shoulder ran out...

i would think ur front windshield would crack or shatter, not your sunroof. guess the hood is really that long.

The same thing happen to a local guy i met with an IS300.
He had his car in the shop for 5-6 months getting major work done body and engine wise. He test drove it and the hood popped on in. He figured it was the latch and made the proper adjustment. Well a week later the same thing that happened to you happened to him. Man i couldn't look at him it looked like he was almost ready to cry. I don't know why certain people have such issues since I haven't had any but if your going to put in another CF hood adjust your latch to the point where there is no flapping if that is not possible then i would suggest getting hood pins.

I don't remember who exactly but I do remember this happening to one of the guys from PA. Actually his CF hood flew off

Hood pins on the G35 is not really necessary.
I have gone thru 3 diff carbon fiber hoods(OEM Seibon, Seibon TS Hood Damaged in a Accident, Current Seibon TS Hood FS) and have had no issues with any of them. The Oem one flapped on me one time and I found out it was missing a washer so it wasn't grabbing the hood correctly right after that I deciced to install all my hoods myself.
