i just installed a B&M short shifter and i noticed a rattle and can hear road noise comming from the shifter at 5000 rpm... ive used all the factory insulation and rubber shifter covers. does anyone have this problem?

 

yep.................. they are pretty much noisy, although some ppl have claimed they were quiet, I have 3 buddies who have them as well and they all make noise

 

Mine's quiet. No rattles whatsoever.

 

should have gone with the rogue short shifter.

 

The problem is many people over tighten the bolt on the shifter fork,
When that happens, you have changed the angle of the linkage.
I think its a well designed shifter.

 

Not a fresh thread, but was looking for DIY or comments on installing the B&M.

Just got the new shifter in. I note that several on the forum suffer noise and rattle with their's. Besides not overtightening the bolt on the shifter fork, do you guys have any tips or comments on installation to ensure a smooth and quiet shifter?
