Let me guess ... UofT student? Hmmm ... UC, Trinity College, or Innis? I've seen a lot of Gs on campus, especially coming in and out of the underground Innis parking lot. I'll see if I can spot your IP 6MT next time I'm in the area (that's if you're a UofT student).

Good luck with the great traffic on the DVP or downtown ... what a headache that can be.

Auto. No room for error.
WAIT
Save your money and put those scholorships to good use. AN EDUCATION. That is something you will really regret if you wasted that money on a car.

If I only take into account what you said... then:

+1 for manual because you said you like to drive and have fun

but

+1 for auto because you have a NO experience with a manual...

eventually I would suggest go with a manual and TAKE YOUR TIME learning to drive with it and DO NOT race with manual while you learn to drive it !!!!!

take manual and take your time learning it

You just made me feel better about this whole thread. I thought you were using the scholarship money for the car. Congratulations on the hard work leading up to now!

and Yes...the MT is Mandatory!

I've been driving manual for the past ten years, many times in heavy traffic, and I'll never get tired of it.

Can you read?
He IS using the scholarship money to buy a car!
(tons of scholarships is how i could afford it)
Money well used...........NOT.

I cannot believe you even got scholarships when your parents are so well off. Most of the people in that situation cannot get them for that reason.

and no the MT is not Mandatory!

you must not have gone to college or even known anybody that did..... there are multiple ways to get scholarships.... some kids are smart and the college wants them so bad they give them a scholarship, he's not talking about a NEED-BASED scholarship

im willing to bet a new G that his parents have been saving his whole life to pay for him to go to college, and all of a sudden they dont have to use that money cause their kid worked hard in school...... so now they say "well done son.... we should reward you"

Are you an idiot? There have been cases of oil consumption, but that has nothing to do with the transmission. If a motor consumes oil, its the motor consuming oil, not the transmission. Don't be upset because you drive an automatic

He never said his parents were buying the car. He said the only reason he could afford it was because of scholarships. Look at his first post.

I think its kinda implied that his parents are paying for it since he's 18 and he's just starting college.

And since his scholarship is academic-based, I believe most schools won't even give the student the money and just internally pay the tuition. At least, they did at my university.

I think rob40wilson03's conclusion is pretty much on the spot.

Why do you people care what he does with his money? He asked whether it would be better to get the 5GAYT or the 6MT....
