I've read many posts like these and felt absolute sorrow for those with damaged cars. Well it happened to me. The worst part was that it was a 13 year old girl that pulled out in front of me on a bike. Didn't even see her. She's ok, Thank God, in the hospital 2 days. No tickets given, but since I was in a car and her on bike, it's my fault in the poliece report even though the cop said there was nothing I could of done. Go figure. Well I need a new bumper, headlight, grill, windshield, mirror, and hood, both fenders, hinge pillar need minor bodywork and paint. I hate having a new car that has been painted, especially black, I'll always know. I know things could of been worse and the car should be the least of my worries, but just wanted to vent and I knew you guys would nderstand.
Be careful out there. This could happen to anyone.

well like you said, nothing that you could have really done. I'm guessing this in a residential neighborhood? Hopefully, you were doing the speed limit....but it has to be a horrible feeling. I hope the girl and your car gets better! Since the car isn't metallic black, you shouldn't notice any difference if you take it to a reputable place. Do you have any pics of the damage?

That sounds like an aweful lot of damage from a girl on a bike...how fast were you going when this happened?

Yea, what he said. How big was this girl that you hit man? Sounds more like a damage a deer would do, not a kid on a bike. Glad both parties are okay though, could have been a lot worse.

Damn...

I hope that girl is OK.

This is definitely something for other people to consider the next time they go speeding through their neighborhoods without thinking of the possible outcomes.

Only going about 10 mph. I was Pulling out from a stop sign. Fenders, hood, hinge pillar, and one door need minor bodywork and paint, not replaced. Only a few small dents on each, but need to be fixed. Bumper, windshield, grille, headlight need replaced. Body shop really working with me to get parts replaced instead of fixed. I don't want any body filler on my car! Only 8000 miles on the car.

The same thing happened to me but in an accord. I was making right from a stopsign and out of nowhere comes this highschool kid on a bike. I make the turn from a complete stop..did my normal lefty righty looky....not even 10 mph yet and this kid hits me and rolls over my hood to the windshield and ending up breaking off my passenger side mirror. This kid weighed about 200 lbs... Bumper damage from the bike..hood damage to to kid..windshield cracked and dangling mirror...the kid was going the wrong way..he was supposed to ride with the flow of traffic..not against it. Called the police..made sure kid was okay..his bike was f@##$ but he was able to walk. Total estimate from insurance was between 1500-1600.
