HITMAN, Reread my post man. I'm not saying that there is more overall torque on the same exact engine and tranny. What I am saying is that becuase of the torque converter the car has more usable torque AT LOW RPM's.

This can make the car "feel" like it's zooming off the line faster. There is another thing you have to consider as well. My post is not comparing the AT coupe to the MT coupe. I am posting on something that alot of others including myself have noticed while using a G35 loaner sedan. We/I noticed that the car feels quicker off the line compare to a 6MT.

Again I think that because of the AT and the shift computer there is more torque avaiable at idle and low RPM's as compared to the 6MT coupe off the line. Of course we both know that changes real quick as the Tach climbs on the 6MT. I'm gonna do some more research and see if I can find a stock sedan dyno and stock 6MT coupe dyno to compare. I have a feeling that there will be a little more of a spike in torque on the lower end of the chart for the AT Sedan.

Also I know it won't make a huge differance but the Sedan AT is also 66 lbs lighter than the 6MT coupe. I really think this is the reason for that "faster in your butt" feeling off the line for the sedan. Just some thoughts to chew over, and if I'm wrong then I will concede it. Peace.
