Leave it on anytime the road is wet for sure, unless you plan on having some fun and you have done hours of practice time in parking lots etc (with nothing to hit) or as I have over the 25+ years i've been driving RWD cars. Our G's are powerfull and balanced well, if you are not familiar with what happens, don't go playing around on the street, you may regret it; on the other hand, if you have control and have practiced, you will look forward to getting caught while driving on rainy days in your G!

What "stats" of this 80% are you talking about? Is there a survey that I haven't seen on this forum? I doubt it....I have read many times of people turning off their VDC & racking their cars up & then posting picts saying how much of an idiot they feel like.

Like mentioned above by FAST 1...that's because the majority of the G drivers don't bother turning off their VDC, as it's like a safety net. If you think about your statement, you're really not proving or saying that the VDC of these 80% of alleged drivers CAUSED the accident... Do you see where I'm going here?

Really don't see the advantage to turning it off for daily driving..... I've experimented with it off a few times myself in the snow, to test how well the VDC actually controls the car in winter conditions, and I almost $HIT myself a few times, as the back end liked to swing out with it off. Just my $0.02.

My statements are implied on a normal weather condition. In bad weather such as rain and slow i rarely turn VDC off. But people think that VDC is going to save you no matter how stupid you are. Its electronics and can not beat the physics. 99% of the time I have my VDC off because thats how i am comfortable driving. That 1% I have it on is when im driving in very rainy condition. Most of the people that turn VDC off all the time know the car's real limits not the electronic limits. Thats why the tend to be more carefully what they do unlike people who have VDC on.

I think people over rely on their VDC. If you are accelerating though a corner and start to slip, it might save you. But if you are already barreling into a corner with too much speed, I don't think it will.

VDC off the car turns in quicker and you can accelerate out of a corner with much more speed.

From my own experience the vdc almost put me into a wall or another car if there was another car in the other lane. I just bought the car used and didn't really check the tires (yeah i know stupid). Anyway the fronts are stretched and probably in need for a change. I was heading down the freeway which is kinda curvy, not even on the gas and suddenly the car jerked and started pulling me into the other lane. After that experience I leave it off.
