I've had my car for 3 years and only about 22,000 miles on it. I talked to my dealer about possibly extending the warranty. Since it is under 30,000 i got a pretty good deal....its' another 4yrs. 90,000miles....for about 2-3,000 dollars.

I don't know if anyone else here extended their warrranty or considered it...but what do you guys think?

I have considered it myself and have had experiences with previous cars where there were repairs needed during the extended warranty period that cost at least a total of 2x the cost of the warranty itself. In other words, I say get it.

No deal. Get it down to around $1500. I got my 7 year, 100k warranty (Infiniti warranty) for $1344 (no deductable). Its too high IMO.

Unless Infiniti is different, you should be able to obtain an extended warranty from any dealership, not just local or in-state ones.
Many finance managers work those deals competitvely.
So it pays to shop around. And while you need to get it before the original one terminates, no need to panic early.

May I ask where you purchased your warranty from? Is it the bumper to bumper? I am interested as my 04's will run soon. I've had the axle click TSB performed, Bose radio replaced and one window motor replaced so far, so the odds are with me that I'm set for a few years, but you never know.

Also, is the warranty transferrable? Can you buy it out if you sell the car before it expires?

Thanks

I would also love to know... who is the best dealership to get this through and can it be done by phone. So if I am in NY.. can I call like Riverside Infinity and buy it from them if they were the best price on an extended warranty? Anyone.... this is a great post...

We live in CA and called a Honda dealer in upstate NY for ours on an Acura. As far as I know, you can do that with Nissan/Infiniti.

I had heard Washington state had a limitation that you could only buy extended factory warranties from Wa state dealerships. I don't know if that was, or still is true.

Mine is the bumper to bumper to 100k. It is transferable. I got mine from Grubbs infiniti. Also, there is a vegas dealer that is helpful in the other g35 forum. Call around because any dealer can sell you an official extended warranty from Nissan.
